I’m still coming back down to Earth after a wonderful “vacation day” that Atticus and I had yesterday. We at breakfast, lunch, and dinner at three of our favorite places, went to the Indianapolis Museum of Art and perused some lovely boutiques. Then we went to the farm restaurant that is my favorite place, the Loft at Traders Point Creamery. I had a delightful glass of half-price moscato, and we enjoyed an amazing cheese tray with nuts and grapes. Very fun.

Since Atticus has been home the last two weeks, we briefly considered going somewhere out of town overnight and having grandma babysit, but decided it would be more fun to just do some of our favorite things in town that we can’t do with Maggie.

Like drinking, looking at -but not touching or licking- art, and actually eating a leisurely dinner without picking up cheerios from the floor or hastily shoving a pacifier in a mouth to avoid the death stares of others.

So enjoyable was this day, that we decided to take an actual vacation next summer.

We’re thinking California. Arriving in San Fransisco for a few days, and then going to Napa for a few days. Bliss.

I’ve never been to California, and I’m so excited for this trip that I’m already thinking about what I’ll wear as I sip pinot grigio at Robert Mondavi’s.

I’m thinking this number from Shabby Apple ought to do it. What do you think?

You might be wondering why Atticus was home for two weeks. Well, his job ended two weeks ago. His clerkship was for only two years, so we always knew it was going to end in August. He’s been home for the last two weeks as he completes the interview process for a new job, which will probably begin next week.

Thanks to everyone who visited VirtuousPla.net this week for my very first article over there! Your comments made me so happy. I’m really so excited to be a part of what’s going on over there. All of the bloggers are so great; I’ve enjoyed all the posts this week.

Make sure you check it out every Monday for my latest post, which will hopefully not embarrass myself, or totally alienate anybody.

I’ve been on the hunt for new music lately, and I have found some wonderful new sounds.

Madeline Peyroux

Adele (I’m sure most of you have probably already heard her, but she was new to me! — and how glam and gorgeous is she??)

Pink Martini (the song in this video makes me want to sit on my sun porch and drink a mint julep while I watch the world go by, preferably while wearing a fabulous hat of some kind, a la Mia Farrow in Great Gatsby)

Speaking of booze and cheese and hats, it’s the weekend!

Does this poster make anyone else think of The Hangover: the 1950’s? I’m just sayin’. Have a good one friends.  Go check out Jen for more quick takes.
