I bought bacon!

I love bacon. We never, ever buy bacon. But I decided to get some because the nitrate-free stuff (the only kind I’ll eat) was on sale at Meijer.

So, we’re having bacon this weekend. Just thought you’d like to know.

My friend manages a little bo-ho cafe in town and they serve Swedish pancakes, which are very similar to crepes. One of the pancakes ( I can’t recall the fancy Swedish name for them) is filled with Nutella and bacon.

That is either amazing or disgusting. I am learning toward amazing.

Any thoughts on combining bacon with chocolate?

Thanks to everyone who shared a comment on yesterday’s post. I was really unsure when I hit “publish”, but I think it does make sense.

I appreciate the discussion that has been happening all over the internet about NFP. I just hope we can pull it together enough to get some women off of the carcinogens, and onto a healthier life.

So, we live in Indiana. The middle part of Indiana. We’re about 3-4 hours from a large body of water (Lake Michigan) and about 10 hours or more from the Gulf of Mexico (which you’ll hit eventually if you drive straight south).

But Maggie is obsessed with the beach.

Maggie has never been to the beach.

She has two beach books; “At the Beach” and “A Day at the Sea Shore” and those are the go-to books. In fact, she goes to bed with “At the Beach” every night.

Basically, we have to take this child to the beach.

So we’re planning a little overnight trip to the Indiana Dunes this summer. It’s on the shore of Lake Michigan. Not the Chicago side, though. The other side. It’s like a real beach and everything. I mean, for the Midwest.

Just like a real beach. Sort of.

I grew up going to the Jersey Shore (fist pump!) every summer until I was 5 or so. So it’s the “beach” but it’s not “The Beach”.

Someday we’ll take Maggie to “The Beach” but probably not until she’s quite a bit older.

Tomorrow and Sunday Atticus and I are co-facillitating the One in Christ marriage prep program at our parish. This time it’s 13 couples!

Say a prayer for them and us, if you please. All of the couples are Catholic (except for one person who is Methodist) and 6 of the couples listed the same address for them both on the registration. You know what that means.

We’ve got our work cut out for us. We’ll need all the prayer we can get.

Also, I have to watch the movie Fireproof. Again. Help.
