7 Quick Takes Friday: Gratitude Days 2, 3, and 4

Since there’s 7 of them, today’s quick takes will count as my gratitude posts for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So what I am I grateful for this weekend?

7.

The big c.

Clomid, that is.

Today is day three of my first round of the big c. I’m taking a super low dose of 25 mgs, to be upped to 50 mgs next cycle as long as I don’t go insane before then.

So far, so good. No hot flashes or crazy mood swings yet. Just some mild stomach aches, but nothing too bad. Big c, don’t break my heart.

I’m glad you exist, but I wish I didn’t need you.

Same thing with the progesterone supplements I’ll take from cd 18-27.

6.

Going along with that, I am really grateful that I am living as a woman with PCOS during the 21st century, when people (a) know what it is, and (b) mostly know how to treat it.

I am grateful for fertility treatments that help me get pregnant (I hope) and for supplements like progesterone which will help me stay pregnant whenever it happens.

Not grateful to need it, but very glad they exist.

5.

This fall (and really, every fall) I am so grateful for Notre Dame football.

It’s something mindless and fun to distract me from life and just have a good time with my family and friends watching the games.

Love these guys. And of course, the best fight song ever.

4.

I am eternally grateful for this woman:

That’s mi madre holding yours truly a few hours after I was born.

Thanks, Mom!

3.

I’m also forever grateful for these people:

They’re my world.

2.

Most of you might not know this, but I was born in New Jersey, and lived there for the first 5 years of my life. I spent most of those summers “down the shore” with my parents.

Me “down the shore” at about 3 years old.

We spent our time at Point Pleasant Beach.

It used to look like this:

Here is what it looks like today:

I am so not even close to grateful for the shit show that is Sandy, but I am grateful for the great memories that I have at the Jersey Shore from my childhood.

1.

For all of you! You keep coming back and reading my rambling words. What is wrong with you, anyway?

But seriously, thanks. I love you guys!

Happy Weekend and go see Jen for more Quick Takes!
