It’s Friday again, and here we are. 7. Atticus and I are re-doing our room. I decided at the end of last cycle that I need a project, since “Project fill Sarah’s empty womb” is going so well,  something else is required to distract me from the dismal failure of above endeavor. We have a sweet room. Our house is old. It was built in 1936, back when middle-class people had two bedroom homes, regardless of the number of children... Read more

Whew! Time to announce the giveaway winners. I know you all have been waiting anxiously for me to announce. Sorry for the delay friends; I took a workout class this morning that kicked my trash and I needed a little resty-poo before heading online. Now, on to the big finish! I used a very advanced and scientific method of choosing a winner. I wrote all of your entries down on scraps of paper, put them in a bowl, and had... Read more

This is my 500th post on Fumbling Toward Grace. It’s hard to believe that in November 2008 when I started this blog, as an engaged woman two months from her wedding, that it would have become such an important part of my life and truly, my faith. What’s even more amazing are all of the people who have been readers over these past few years, who have reached out to me with words of comfort and consolation during times of... Read more

Even though I left facebook for a break a few weeks ago, I’ve heard all about what’s happened this week, with people changing their profile pictures or statuses to take a stand either for or against same-sex marriage. I think it’s wonderful that people feel passionately about something other than Dancing with the Stars, even if I don’t agree with the stand they’ve taken. Since so many others are changing their profiles to reflect something they care deeply about this... Read more

Lent is rapidly drawing to a conclusion. I’ll tell ya, I won’t be sorry to see the backside of this one. Ironically, I have probably done the best ever in keeping with my resolution for the thing I gave up (any and all ice cream, including the weight watchers ones I previously ate almost daily). Haven’t had one bite of any frozen dairy treats since Mardi Gras. However, that’s where the victory begins and ends. My other lenten intention was... Read more

I don’t know if you all had a chance to see Jen’s post the other day, with 5 things we didn’t know about her, and her asking “What was the most formative experience of your life?” to her readers. The comment thread is interesting and in some places, heartbreaking. It’s a beautiful post in its entirety. Anyway, her words got me thinking about formative experiences, and things you all might not know about me. I’ve been writing here for over... Read more

Today’s post in the “No More Mommy Wars” series features Michelle from Endless Strength. Michelle is a mom of five and one of my oldest “blogging friends”. Her blog was one of the first I found back in 2008 when I started writing here. In fact, when I was struggling with breastfeeding Maggie, Michelle was the one other Catholic mom that I knew who used formula. She was a mom-hero for me. She still is. Thank you and welcome Michelle!... Read more

Before I share today’s post, if I could ask for some prayers today. 4 years ago on March 20 2009, we lost our first baby, Michael John. Please pray for the repose of his soul, and join me in asking is intercession for a sibling for his sister, Maggie. Thank you so much my friends! Now on with the show! Today’s post is from Laura at Mothering Spirit. Her blog always makes me think about something in a new way,... Read more
