Today I am grateful for a blog-turned-chance-encounter-turned-in-real-life friend who God brought into my life this past March, and who I feel as though I have known much longer than that. This friend, knowing that we have been going through some stressful times with TTC and starting treatment, sent me a beautiful encouraging card, and a Starbucks gift card! I was so pleasantly surprised, and was having a hard day, and when I opened that envelope, it was like a hug... Read more

Welcome to my second week of participating in Fine Linen and Purple’s What I Wore Sunday link-up! Well ladies, in this corner of the Internet the talk this weekend is football, football, and more football. It all started yesterday at brunch. There we were at our favorite place downtown when who should walk in to pick up his weekly to-go order? Our very own Colts QB, Mr. Andrew Luck. I’m sitting there, and he walks in. And there’s this tall,... Read more

This week there’s a lot of be grateful for! 7. Christmas music. Yes, I am listening to Christmas music. Guilty. Except I am not sorry. I am happy. My love for Christmas music cannot be contained to one month of the year. I’m trying to only listen to the non-religious music, which maybe you could even just call “holiday music” because there’s no refrence to “the reason for the season”. I won’t listen to the religious music until Advent starts.... Read more

Now, the title of that video is Lorelai and her coffee. It *could* be Sarah and her coffee. A woman: caffinated and consumed? As I sit writing this, I am consuming the most tasty and wonderful skinny vanilla latte the world has ever known. I am grateful for coffee today. Really, I am grateful for coffee every day. Thanks, coffee! What are you grateful for today? Read more

I love books. I love the feel of a brand new book. The possibilites which lay just beyond the cover. Reading is so, so excellent. One of the things I most looked forward to as a mother was reading to my Maggie. It’s such a joy for me to see her enjoying books as she gets older. She brings them to me, three or four at once, then climbs into my lap and settles in for a story. We do... Read more

Ooops. I missed day 12. I knew I was bound to miss one sooner or later. Atticus had the day off from work, and then it snowed. So rude. What I was grateful for on Monday was to be alive. In fact, it’s such a biggie that it’s what I am grateful for today too. Just to be alive. To breathe in sweet, clean oxygen. To see the sky and trees. To enjoy my morning coffee. To kiss my daughter... Read more

Today I am participating in Fine Linen and Purple’s “What I Wore Sunday” series. Every week bloggers share what they wore for Sunday Mass. I love it! Here’s my ensemble for today: Shirt: Ralph Lauren oxford shirt, $5 at Goodwill Jeans: Real Straight dark wash, $40 after coupon (original price $60), Gap Loafers: Enzo Agniolini, Macy’s, gift of my mother in law Necklace: you can’t really see it in the photo but it is a string of light pink and... Read more

What a week it has been! Even with the less than stellar results of Tuesday’s election, there is still plenty to be grateful for! 7. It’ll probably be at least a few weeks before the media starts talking about election 2016. And the Richard Mourdock political ads are finally over! The man is seriously awkward. 6. In the midst of liberal gloating and Republicans going on hysterical rants about the end of Western civilization (come on guys, that whole western... Read more

I found my first gray hair when I was 18. I was a senior in high school when I spotted it. It’s all been downhill since then. I’ve been coloring my hair off and on ever since I started college, but I have noticed over the last few years that I have to color it much more frequently. First it was every 12 weeks, then every 8, and now the gray roots are showing 5 weeks after getting it colored.... Read more

Out for a date on my birthday (though not on a Wednesday) We have a tradition, my Atticus and I. It started last fall, I think, though I can’t remember exactly when. Every Wednesday night is date night. It started because Wednesday was the night when my Mother in Law spends the night and offers her babysitting services. We usually go out, sometimes for dinner, sometimes just out. Away. Together. It’s amazing. Sometimes we’ll go to daily Mass or... Read more
