Since it’s snowing today. I’m going to watch Miracle on 34th Street.   This post has no real rhyme or reason to it. I just have things to share. So here they are. 1. I am scheduled for induction! I heard the nurse on the phone yesterday talking to labor and delivery. I go in to the hospital to begin “the process” 10 am on December 27th. 2. As in, 27 days from today. As in, 27-28 days from today... Read more

We’re heading out this afternoon with the free-range turkey in tow, along with the enormous bowl of cranberry sauce (ask me for the recipe!) that I made yesterday! We’re lucky; no flying (something I’m eternally grateful for this year!), and only an hour and a half to drive. Tomorrow I’ll watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade at my in-laws house, as I did at my own family’s house every year growing up. We’ll eat, we’ll laugh, hopefully nothing will get... Read more

I have some questions that I’d love to ask any of you out there that may have wisdom to share. I’m a sponge ladies. I’m ready to soak it up. 🙂 I do apologize if you clicked over here today to read something insightful, funny, or not related to babies. I’ll do my best to get something else up tomorrow! For now, please enjoy this: The Opera Company of Philadelphia hidden out as shoppers at Macy’s, breaking out into the... Read more

Happy Feast of Jesus Christ the King! “The King is Jesus; in him God entered humanity and espoused it to himself. This is the usual form of the divine activity in relation to mankind. God does not have a fixed plan that he must carry out; on the contrary, he has many different ways of finding man and even of turning his wrong ways into right ways… The feast of Christ the King is therefore not a feast of those... Read more

Check out more QT’s at Conversion Diary! It’s been a long time coming. Tonight we are going to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I! This is the beginning of the end of the series. The books ended in 2007 with the publication of Deathly Hallows, and the movie series will end in 2011 when part 2 is released. I’m devoting my quick takes to all things HP today.   *** 1 *** ten years is a long time:... Read more

Or I suppose one could say week 33? In either case, Monday I was 33 weeks, and yesterday was my appointment. Since about week 20 or so, I have been saying to Atticus “Oh she’s going to put me on insulin this time” or something to that effect. But it still hasn’t happened! I know the last weeks of a diabetic pregnancy are the worst, and it still could, but it would be so great if I only needed a... Read more

On November 27th (the Saturday after thanksgiving)? The Holy Father is leading a “Vigil for All Nascent Human Life” on November 27th, the day before the First Sunday of Advent. Why just as Advent dawns? “Advent calls to mind the centuries of expectation for the Messiah, but also focuses on the expectant Blessed Virgin Mary. In its observance of the days leading up to Christmas, the Church implicitly recognizes that an unborn child is a human being, a person with... Read more

Today’s post is devoted to things I’m grateful for; after all, November is the month of Gratitude right? In addition to these things, I am grateful for Jen for hosting quick takes! *** 1 *** Fat-Free Greek Yogurt. It’s a protein power-house, has no (or low) fat, and less carbs than regular yogurt. Since strawberries aren’t really in season right now, I eat the yogurt with apples, pears, grapes, or raisins usually.  It also keeps me full for a long... Read more

I was reading my usual blogs this morning, and I came across a post from Jen at Conversion Diary about her 3rd labor, and how she came to understand the concept of “offering it up” just a little bit better through her very hard labor. You can read it here. Seeing how my own experience of powerful physical suffering is impending (just about 7 weeks from now) I am so fascinated by this post. I’d like to say I’ve... Read more

I was so blessed to have a baby shower on Saturday! Elizabeth and Caitilin worked so hard on the food and drinks, and they were delicious! It was an intimate group, as two friends were unable to make it at the last minute (we missed you!) but a great time was had by all. Here are some of the highlights: Me with Caitilin (on the left) and Elizabeth, the hostesses!   Me with Grandma-to-be and Aunt-to-be!   The group minus... Read more
