….every poet is a thief…” I’m not sure if you’ve been following the Prodigal Sam controversy. Prodigal Sam is a campus minister down in South Carolina, and has over 100,000 followers on Twitter by posting some pretty hilarious Tweets. As it turns out, some of them are riffs on other comedians stuff. Was he stealing? Was he borrowing? Who cares, you ask? Especially considering Tweets aren’t exactly “Intellectual Property” like, say, a comedy special or a written book? Silly people, SOMEONE... Read more

Hey Everyone, Every Tuesday night, we’re gonna post comics we’re looking forward to reading tomorrow. So, let’s get cracking…..   Green Lantern #21  In case you missed it, GL #20 is sold out. You can’t get it anywhere. My agent and friend tried to get it in Louisville this past weekend. It was an amazing and beautiful end to Geoff John’s run on Green Lantern. Now, we have the creative team of Robert Venditti and Billy Tan. They have very... Read more

(Yesterday, the nation was horrified at the near murder of a young girl by her twelve year old companions. The girl stumbled out of the woods with fifteen stab wounds. When the police arrested the two culprits, they told the officers that “they wanted to become servants of Slender Man “.  As you might expect, this sent my fellow members of the media scrambling around to find about this mythical creature. Those in the horror world (like me) knew the name... Read more

Hey Everyone, We’re back on Geek Goes Rogue and, we’re no longer on the Evangelical Channel here at Patheos. Instead, we’re on the Movie Channel and we think that’s a better fit. So, to give you a sense of our new direction, we’re going to keep our “editorials” on all things geek related. But, we’re also adding some new wrinkles such as reviews, more interviews and Geek news. To that End here is our  first news item. DC Comics is... Read more

Hey Everyone, We took a bit of a break here at Geek Goes Rogue. Essentially, we’re trying to re-imagine the blog a bit. Next week will be the beginning of our (Semi) new direction. Now, many have been asking about my writing and all the different stuff I’m writing at this point. Here is the up to date skinny: Novels: 3 Gates of the Dead is going to be published October 15, 2013. It is not just an e-book, but... Read more

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a huge Daredevil fan. The current run by Mark Waid is telling some of the best “Man Without Fear” stories we’ve seen in awhile. (Spoiler Alert) But, I want to focus just on one aspect of issue 26 and it doesn’t have to do with Daredevil. At least, not directly. In the current story line, Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock’s best friend and law partner,  is battling cancer. At the end of issue 26, Foggy hangs... Read more

Tommorow, May 22nd, is a historic and sad day in the comic world. With issue #20 of Green Lantern, Geoff Johns will end his legendary run as the chief writer in the Green Lantern Universe. Over at Comic Resources, they ran a great interview with Johns on why he decided to end his time on GL. Reading the interview, I respect his decision. He wants to end his story the right way and not to try to press it beyond its... Read more

I’ve been floored by the response to my “Indie” comic artist interviews. Thanks for sharing your stories with me. Let’s keep promoting Indie Artists work! So, next up is Ken Eppstein. He is a writer, artist and owns Nix Comics right here in Columbus, Ohio. While Ken and I have been unsuccessful in trying to get a beer together (will happen soon), we were able to sit down by email for a great chat. I’ve become a huge fan of his... Read more
