Nancy Pelosi’s scheme to include massive spending on family planning as part of the bailout plan is being dropped, thanks to personal intervention from President Obama. According to this article, the President responded to Republican criticism by asking Democratic congressmen to pull the measure. (See yesterday’s post on the subject.)
