The abuse of government expense accounts by the ruling Labour Party lawmakers and ministers in England is threatening to bring down Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Some of the misuse of money is on a grandiose scale, but to me this one, involving such a small amount of money, is most telling: “A Labor lawmaker. . .sought government reimbursement for 5 pounds (about $8.25) he placed in a church offertory.”
How does that illustrate today’s moral and political mindsets?
