The Democrats’ absolute rule

Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania has announced that he is switching from the Republican to the Democratic party. Assuming comedian Al Franken is eventually seated as the Senator from Minnesota, after the disputed election in which he apparently narrowly came out on top, this will give Democrats filibuster-proof majority. Nothing can stop them now! One party rule. Oh, for the days of divided government and gridlock!
