Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize

President Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. I’m stunned. I’m flummoxed. I’m gobsmacked. What did he win it FOR? What has he done for world peace? Maybe later, by the end of his presidency, he will have done something at least remotely significant to bring peace to the world. But what has he done to win the 2009 prize? I don’t mean this to be critical of the president, who has just started his administration. He hasn’t yet decided whether to get out of Afghanistan or escalate the war there. He hasn’t taken America out of Iraq. He hasn’t negotiated peace in the Middle East. He has withdrawn the missile defense from Eastern Europe as the Russians requested. I just don’t understand what the Norwegian academy was thinking. Can someone help me?
