As I mentioned the other day, I have been listening to Slim Dusty, the iconic Australian singer who died in 2003. He does the definitive “Waltzing Matilda” and other Australian folk songs, but he also performs Aussie-style country music. Sometimes, though, he sings with a gem that transcends categories. Here is a sampling from his final album, but I ask you to listen to “Get Along.” Prepare to be amazed. (One can imagine the late Beatles or a contemporary alternative rocker recording this song.)
