Baptism & Call Night

Baptism & Call Night

We’re in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Our latest granddaughter, Evangeline, was baptized. And then last night was “call night” at the seminary, where our son-in-law received his first call. (Over a third of his class–22 pastoral candidates– didn’t get one! This, despite the alarm sent out through our church body that we are going to suffer a lack of church workers!)

But Ned got a call. To Trinity Lutheran Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma! BLACKWELL, OKLAHOMA! That’s about 12 miles from the Veith ancestral farm in Tonkawa. My father used to go to Blackwell to go to the picture show. That’s in north-central Oklahoma, just off I-35. It’s probably about 20 minutes from Ponca City. Not far from Enid. We have lots of family in Oklahoma still, so we are always going there to visit.

So, Trinity, Blackwell, get ready to have a fine pastor. And a fine pastor’s wife. And two fine PKs.
