Tea partiers scored big in this week’s primary elections, defeating long-established Republican politicians with newcomers whose zeal exceeds their experience. Now Democrats, just as they were getting resigned to a rout in November, are thinking that maybe they will do OK, that the Republican Tea Party candidates will be too extreme, too scary, or too unqualified to attract the larger public, who will instead be prudent and elect the Democrat.
