DISCUSSION: How Should Christians Deal with Cultural Hostility?

Today’s main post is about how the secular world has moved from being positive towards Christianity, to being neutral about it, to being negative about it.

I questioned that, observing that it is only the “high culture,” high status progressive elites that are hostile to Christianity because of its Biblical opposition to abortion, homosexuality, and other prime moral values of this segment. And that what many “ordinary” Americans are objecting to is this elitism.  The working class is the biggest demographic of the unchurched, yet remains relatively positive towards Christianity, even as the church is preoccupied with reaching the elite instead.

Still, let’s grant the point that the climate today is more hostile to Christianity than it used to be.  So what strategies and tactics should Christians take to resist this hostility and even to evangelize those who feel this way?
