Franklin Graham launched the Tar Heel State Tour leg of his 2019 Decision America Tour October 1 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The two-week tour will go to Greenville (October 2), Wilmington (October 5), Raleigh (October 6), Greensboro (October 9), Hickory (October 10), Charlotte (October 12) and Asheville (October 13).
The purpose of the tour is “to proclaim the Gospel and join believers in praying for our nation, our communities and the lost.”
All events are free and no tickets are required.
Festival Park was packed Tuesday night with an estimated 9,200 people according to Fayetteville police.
“Our country is in a lot of chaos … a lot of trouble … and we need to pray for our country,” Graham told the crowd Tuesday night.
“I see our country not going forward but I see our country going backwards, and I think the only person that can solve the problems is not politicians … it’s God,” Graham told WRAL.
“All of us are sinners, all of us make mistakes,” Graham said. “But we’ve got to work together and quit the name calling and finger pointing and work together.”
In January, Graham will visit several cities in Florida on Decision America’s Sunshine State Tour. The tour will stop in Jacksonville Beach, Plant City, Panama City Beach, Key West, Boca Raton and Estero.
This past May, the Decision America Northeast Tour drew more than 31,000 people across Portland, Maine; Burlington, Vermont; Manchester, New Hampshire; Springfield, Massachusetts; East Providence, Rhode Island; Bridgeport, Connecticut; and Syracuse, New York.
The tour stopped in Tennessee and Texas in 2017, following the original 2016 Decision America Tour across all 50 state capitals, challenging Christians to lead lives rooted in Biblical principles and to pray earnestly for America.
In 2018, an estimated 120,000 people in California, Oregon and Washington joined Franklin Graham for Decision America Tour events.
Franklin Graham was born and raised in North Carolina and is the oldest son of Ruth and Billy Graham.
