Today I want to tell you about a new venture of mine, a just-launched website that is a companion to this blog. While The Holy Rover is somewhat like a newspaper, with a new entry sent out six days a week, my new website is more like an ever-expanding, web-based guidebook to spiritual sites. Hence the name: Spiritual Travels.
Websites like this one are part of a new wave in publishing, one that offers complete creative and financial control to writers. I know writers who are doing extremely well with such websites, and others who on a good month make enough to pay for a cup of coffee. Your guess is as good as mine about how Spiritual Travels will go, but I’m viewing it as a long-term project and am excited about its launch.
So I hope you’ll check out Spiritual Travels. If you browse its pages, you’ll recognize some Holy Rover material, but there’s a lot of new information on it as well. It’s meant to be useful to someone who goes to Google and does a search such as “Lourdes” or “Martin Luther sites in Germany.” Rather than a continuing conversation like The Holy Rover, it’s more of a resource for people to dip into as needed.
Next week, it’s on to Thomas Merton!
