Galatians 4: You Are His Child

^“6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” ⁷ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” -Galatians 4:6-7

As followers of Jesus, we often don’t realize how blessed we truly are. The same was true with the believers in Galatia. Paul had to remind them that in Christ, our relationship with God is now radically different. How so? We are…

…no longer slaves

…God’s children

…heirs of God

We are no longer under the control of sin as we were before Christ changed us. We are now part of God’s eternal family that consists of all believers from all locations and generations. Our future inheritance is to be with Christ in heaven forever.

Life today may be a struggle, but life eternal will be a celebration. We are free. We have a father. We have a future.

You are his child.
