2 Timothy 4: Keep the Faith

2 Timothy 4: Keep the Faith October 7, 2011

“7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” -2 Timothy 4:7-8

At the end of life, our goal is to say we have no regrets. As Paul shares, “I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” The question is “How?”

For Paul, this began with his faith in Jesus Christ. It continued through a daily commitment to follow God’s ways rather his own. Whether easy or difficult, God’s way was his way. In the final days of his earthly life, he could confidently share he had kept the faith.

If we wish to one day say we have kept the faith, we must keep the faith now, today. We can’t wait until years down the road and end well and with confidence. Delay means defeat. Procrastination will only lead to regret.

Do you wish to keep the faith? Do you want to end well. Begin now, at this moment, by learning and living the will of our Father in heaven.
