Exodus 11: Making God Look Good

Exodus 11: Making God Look Good 2012-03-26T09:34:38-04:00

“The LORD made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.” -Exodus 11:3

Our lives should make God look good. The Egyptians had been watching Moses and the people of Israel through a series of plagues. What they noticed changed their attitude toward their slaves. The people they had beaten and abused were now seen with favor.

Why? Ultimately God placed this attitude in the hearts of the people. Yet from a social perspective, we see that when people live out their beliefs, its causes others to notice. Whether it’s a celebrity athlete like Tebow or Lin or the person in the next cubicle at the office, a person with strong faith results in high regard from other people.

What about you? Is your life so strong in faith that other people “highly regard” you? What is something you can do today to improve in this area? Again, this is ultimately a work of God, but we are likewise called to work hard to live out our faith in ways that point people to the love of our Lord.
