“21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” -Exodus 14:21-22
The Israelites were free, yet pursued. They had suffered pain; now they faced death. They were so close, yet one barrier remained–the Red Sea.
As Pharaoh and his army pursued, we find two responses. First, the response of the people. They complained. Feared. They saw death when looking at the sea.
But the second response was that of Moses. He prayed. Trusted. He saw God when looking at the sea.
God answered in the most miraculous way–he divided the waters and allowed his people to walk across on dry land. They literally walked through what they saw as death into the freedom of their new life.
The difference? God–and our response toward him. Today, you may only see the water blocking your path, but don’t forget God. In his time, he can turn your sea into dry land, allowing you to pass through your trials to his next step of the journey for you on the other side.
