Deuteronomy 7: Chosen

Deuteronomy 7: Chosen 2012-08-09T10:53:19-04:00

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” -Deuteronomy 7:6

To be holy is to be set apart. God chose the people of Israel from among all the people on the planet to be his people, his treasured possession.

While this may seem unfair to those who are not Israelites, consider what has happened since this time. Jesus, the Messiah and Son of God, came to earth, died, resurrected, and ascended to offer every person eternal life. Those who come to salvation in Christ are chosen and are his treasured possession.

Today, remember: You are his treasure. Let’s live like it.
