2 Chronicles 11: God’s Truth Saves Lives

2 Chronicles 11: God’s Truth Saves Lives 2013-06-26T10:02:25-04:00

But this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God: “Say to Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’” So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Jeroboam. -2 Chronicles 11:2-4

Sometimes we hesitate to say what we believe God is telling us because we don’t want to cause trouble. But the truth is that not speaking out can actually cause more harm.

What if Shemaiah had not spoken God’s truth to the king and the people? In appears civil war would have ensued, resulting in the loss of many lives. God does not speak unless there is a reason. We are called to listen, to act, and to obey.

How could God use your words to change a life today?
