This is the power of the gospel. Paul wrote in Romans 12:1-2:
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Our part? We offer ourselves to God. We choose to no longer be conformed by the pattern of this world.
His part? God transforms us.
The result? We can better understand God’s will. Who doesn’t want to know what God wants us to do with our lives?
God does the changing; we do the surrendering. God does the work; we do the worship.
Be transformed.
