No Rest for the Weary

No Rest for the Weary

What’s the difference between homeschool and “real school,” as the kids like to call it?

Real school has school vacation.  Not so our homeschool.

Since we now only manage to get in about an hour of school a day, we are never going to meet the list of objectives I have for the year unless we keep right on schooling through school vacations and summer.

When I saw that the Museum of Natural History in DC had an exhibit on the bones of Jamestown colonists, and that it was scheduled to end on February 5, I decided to drag the boys and their cousin in today to check it out.  I thought it was incredible.  The boys could have taken it or left it, leaning more to left it.  But when we begin our unit on early American colonists next semester, there will be a moment when they look up at me and say, “Hey, this is like the museum.”

And I will be glad that we “homeschooled” over Christmas break.
