Until I started writing a blog, I didn’t read a single blog regularly.  Now I regularly follow several.

Some of them, like Shannah’s, Kathy’s, and Sarah’s are from friends.  It’s a new way to share life with them — not really real, but more real than I expected.

I read one blog by someone I now consider a friend even though we’ve never met.  She found my blog through Jeff and has written admiringly of me – which, pathetically, is all it takes for me to think someone is great.  She doesn’t write often, but some of her posts make me smile all day.

Not surprisingly, the blogs I read most these days are Mommy Blogs (including Kathy’s) and Homeschool Blogs.  Here are two of my current favorites:

• From my first homeschool friend.  She uses Charlotte Mason methods, makes her own clothes, and makes raising four boys seem easy.  But I like her and her blog anyway.
• From a woman whose daughter has Down’s. Her site is Thin Places: Amy Julia Becker On Faith, Family and Disability.

Finally, I check several times a day to see if Kate has written a new post.  Kate was un-schooled until she left for college, and her posts help me understand this project from the student side of things. She’s still in her twenties, and we don’t share the same worldview, but she has something I hope my kids will have, even if I can’t quite name it yet.  This post came at just the right time this week.
