Then you’re not from California.  And you weren’t raised by Jeff.

This shot is from the the seventh basket on the Bijou Disc Golf Course, one of SIX Frisbee golf courses in South Lake Tahoe.

The boys and Jeff left for California yesterday.  They are spending a week with Grandma and Grandpa at Lake Tahoe, where Jeff spent summers camping with his family and where his parents now live.

Like Jeff, Frisbee Golf has a populist sentiment.  No fancy clothes required – in fact, they are discouraged.  Eighty-five percent of all courses are free.  And people from four to eighty-four can have a blast playing.

After golf, they went home for lunch and then back out to traipse around Taylor Creek in bare feet to see the young trout.  Home again for more of Grandma’s cooking and Grandpa’s company and laughter.  Add a couple worksheets, a few minutes on the piano, and you’ve got a full day of homeschool.

More important, you have a nearly perfect day for all of my boys.
