Moderation and patience

It makes sense that gratitude gets us in tune with life’s abundance. After all, the more thankful we are for the good things we already have, the more good things we’ll find coming our way.

Just as important as gratitude are moderation and patience. Being thankful supports the abundance of the present from a past perspective. Living with moderation and patience supports present-moment abundance from a future perspective.

Enjoying life’s abundance does not mean overindulging. That’s not enjoyable at all, and it doesn’t express much confidence in the future. If you live with the desperate urge to have it all now, you’re actually pushing abundance away from you. By seeking to grab all you can as quickly as you can, you focus your mind on a debilitating sense of lack and limitation.

Moderation, on the other hand, expresses confidence in life’s limitless abundance. When you make use of just what you require for the moment, you do so with the assurance that there will always be more when you are ready to make use of it. In the same way, patience expresses confidence in the future. When you let go of the need to have it all now, you do so with the assurance that abundance will continue flowing your way.

Plus, moderation and patience enable you to experience and enjoy the abundance in your life. When you’re not constantly worried about getting more, you can actually fully live the value of what you have.

Instead of seeking to grab all you can as quickly as possible, take some time to truly enjoy what’s already here and now. Abundance has no limit, so let it come to you at a pace that won’t overwhelm you.
