The blue button

The blue button 2015-03-13T20:30:32-06:00

Imagine sitting at a console with two buttons in front of you. One of the buttons is blue and one is yellow. Every time you push the blue button, it moves your life positively forward. Every time you push the yellow button, nothing happens.

If you were faced with such a situation, which button would you push? Would you push the blue button to move your life forward, or would you push the yellow button just because it’s there?

Of course you would push the blue button. Or would you?

Every time you complain about how unfair life has been to you, or worry about how bad it could become, you are, in effect, pushing the yellow button. Your resentments, your complaints, your worries achieve nothing, just as if you are pushing a button that’s not connected to anything. A lot of energy and effort creating nothing of any value.

Every time you focus on the best of your possibilities, and take positive and productive steps toward those possibilities, you’re pushing the blue button. Every time you let go of your fears and let yourself truly live in joy, you’re pushing the blue button. Every time you love without condition, you’re pushing the blue button and moving your life forward.

Which button does it make sense to push? Which one are you pushing today?
