The truth will persevere. It may take a while, but anything that is not true will ultimately be consumed by its own contradictions. Over the long run, it always pays to be on the side of truth.
It can be tempting to ignore the truth or to hide from it for the sake of convenience or expediency. The problem is, the longer you avoid a difficult truth the more difficult it becomes. When you put off dealing with what you know is true, the fewer options you have.
The best strategy is one that fully acknowledges the truth. Put the truth to work for you rather than fighting against it. Instead of wasting a lot of effort in avoiding or running from what will eventually catch up to you, face it head on. The way to successfully deal with a difficult truth is to in fact deal with it. You will eventually have to deal with it anyway, so choose to go ahead with your most effective response when you have the best options, which is now.
The truth can hurt, but that’s no reason to avoid it. On the contrary, that’s a reason to fully acknowledge what is true and to put that truth to work for you.
