The stairway

Challenge is a stairway that leads to higher and higher levels of experience. Challenge is the stairway that leads to where you most want to go. Challenge can frighten you. And if you let it, challenge will bring out the best in you.

You don’t have to climb the whole stairway in one single giant effort. One step at a time will do just fine. You’ll always be making progress and you’ll absolutely get as high as you choose to go.

Do you want to see something that will amaze you? Take on a difficult, meaningful challenge. After a while, look in the mirror. The stronger, more capable, more experienced, more confident person looking back at you is not who you saw before. Then, turn around and look at what you have accomplished.

Take on a challenge, and some of what you encounter will confuse you. Some of it will frustrate you. Some of it will anger you and disappoint you. But every bit of it will give you a reason to connect, again and again, with the purpose that is driving you. That’s a good thing. That’s a very good thing. The more you do it, the more your fuel lines will become unclogged. Life’s energy will start flowing into your awareness more quickly and reliably than ever before.

And as it does, you can just keep on climbing that stairway. The challenges at the bottom prepare you to handle the more formidable challenges you’ll come across as you get higher up. One after the next, higher and higher, those challenges lead you to your objectives. And in fact what was once an objective becomes a platform from which to seek even more valuable results.

Every stairway has a bottom step. Once you take it, you’re on your way. Once you’ve stepped up on that first step, the next one is closer than ever. And so is the top — closer than ever.

Go out and find a stairway that leads precisely to where you want to go. Go out and find yourself a challenge that will fashion your life into the way you want to live it, and that will transform your world into the world that exists in your highest vision.

Is it challenging? You bet it is. And that, after all, is precisely the point.
