About

Sherry Weddell grew up as a blue-eyed baby Baptist and entered the Catholic Church in December of 1987.  In 1993, she created the Called & Gifted discernment process, the first gifts discernment program designed especially for Catholics. She co-founded the Catherine of Siena Institute in 1997 with her first partner-in-crime, Fr. Michael Sweeney, OP.  The Institute’s mission is to equip parishes to form lay apostles.

Since then, Sherry and her international team of collaborators have worked in 400 parishes in 120 dioceses on five continents.  They have helped 80,000 Catholics to discern how God has called and gifted them, and trained another 15,000 Catholic leaders to make disciples and form apostles in and through the local parish.   Sherry is the author of the best-selling book, Forming Intentional Disciples: the Path to Knowing and Following Jesus

Sherry is on a first name basis with the Delta Airline crew in Colorado Springs and is currently writing the Michelin Guide to the Abandoned Convents and Rectories of North America because she has stayed in most of them. When she is not on the road, she and her husband enjoy the challenge of turning a Rocky Mountain “fixer-upper” into a high altitude Tuscan garden under the watchful eyes of their twin cats: Cosmas and Damian.
