“Let’s go home!”

What do you think when you hear the phrase “Let’s go!” as compared to “Let’s go home!”?

There are times when I like to just pull out of the driveway without a plan. This type of spontaneity can be frowned upon by others, especially my passenger/s.

There’s a world of difference when driving, or going along for the ride, between hearing someone say “Let’s go!” as opposed to “Let’s go home!”

Over the years, I have usually been the one to say “Let’s go!” I thoroughly enjoy a spontaneous drive, a spontaneous trip. I have great memories of such things.

I also have come to value the phrase “Let’s go home!” At this point in my life, it can only be said by a precious few, and is seldom said.

My articles recently have been along the lines of “Let’s go!” I haven’t had an agenda. Week to week I do not always know what I’m going to post, where I’m going to turn next so to speak. I have not been following a “Content Calendar,” neither mine nor anyone else’s.

However, I’ve been enjoying every moment of this “Let’s go!” time frame. Some of my articles have done quite well on Patheos. For instance, “You Will be Caught” has been averaging about 500 hits per day. To read this article CLICK

I’ve been surprised by the amount of readers. I do believe my readership is growing overall, if I’m seeing the analytics right. Who would have thought this phase would be so fun, driving along each week in a modality of “Let’s go!”

But today at church, I overheard someone say to someone else “Let’s go home!”

This is how I feel when I’m in a series, when I’m driving with a preset destination in mind, when I’m bringing it home.

Over the years on Patheos, I’ve written series after series. Although I do not have my library at my fingertips now, I have countless digital files from decades of education and ministry to draw from.

I think I want to bring it home.

A series is not often as popular as other posts. However, a series has other benefits. I think I’ll start searching through my personal archives for some predetermined path, some way to reach a familiar destination, some way to bring it home.

It may not be right away.

There may be another couple spontaneous articles while I search for a suitable series.

Bear with me as I shift from this season of…
“Let’s go!”
to…
“Let’s go home!”
