Update & thanks to the many people who have prayed for me this spring: We may have a solution. Saw Dr. Maybe on Friday for assorted testing, after which he proposed a trial run of a new prescription. Results so far: Astonishingly effective.
We still need to figure out dosages, side effects, see how it goes over the long haul, etc. etc., not to mention the inevitable rehab. But it is, at least, a very strong start.

Memorial Day.
If you are reading this early in the day on Monday, it is not too late for you to hunt around for a daily Mass. The nice thing about Mass is that Heaven opens up right there in the room with you, so no inconvenient traveling half the globe to get yourself to the cemetery where your departed soldier is interred. Far be it from me to discourage such travels, but sometimes the nearby parish Mass is a little more obtainable.
PSA: You don’t have to be Catholic to attend.

And am I the only one who can’t sing America the Beautiful without tearing up?
A well-balanced patriotic upbringing is maybe not the most important thing, but it sure is good to have had.
