Paul yearns to get to Rome — probably because he knew how important Rome was. His yearning manifests itself in his unceasing, constant prayers for the church at Rome. |inline Read more

I had a delightful time with the youth pastors up above Estes Park Tuesday morning. My assignment was to talk about the gospel and how we evangelize in this era when we are trying to get a bigger grip around the full gospel. You can read Marko’s comment and I’ll record some thoughts on my time with the pastors: |inline Read more

Kris and I are not big fans of fiction, even though I generally try to read a new piece of fiction every year. Last year I read Gilead and liked about 80% of it. I’ll try to read Saint Maybe this year. But, what are you reading in either non-fiction or fiction? Any good suggestions? Read more

In the next few days I’m publishing here a student project by Renee Dinges, who is preparing herself for church-planting in the Vineyard. She, along with some young folk at the Vineyard Church in Evanston, have initiated a new “party evangelism” format and here are the results of her project: she wants it to be a magazine. |inline Read more

Again, from The Book of Common Prayer as found in Phyllis Tickle, Dvine Hours, but adjusted to “we/us”: Almighty and merciful God, in your goodness keep us, we pray, from all things that may hurt us, that we, being ready both in mind and body, may accomplish with a free heart those things which belong to your purpose; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Read more
