John’s Band: The Picture

Here’s a work of art entitled “John’s Band,” created by artist Karen Helms.

Besides being what I think we can all agree is an astonishingly inspired artist, Ms. Helms is Deputy Tax Collector for Mariposa County, home of Yosemite (and also, according to Ms. Helms, “the Bible belt of the Sierras”).

The mega-generous Karen tells me this image is mine to do with as I please.

I was thinking of turning it into a badge that people could then place on their blogs. Put Member: John’s Band across its top, JohnShore.com across its bottom, have it link to my blog, and … it’d be like I died and went to penguin heaven.

I know I can figure out how to create and make available that badge in about two months shy of never. If any of you Photoshoppy, techno-wizzy types would like to make that badge for me, of course I’d appreciate that assistance.

I’m having fun with my new blog platform, which just launched today. I know you guys can’t tell how different it is, but, from my end, it’s a whole new ballgame. Stay tuned for upcoming bloggy goodness!
