‘Mully’: A Story of One Kenyan Man’s Faith and Giving Back

‘Mully’: A Story of One Kenyan Man’s Faith and Giving Back October 3, 2017

Mully-MovieShowing Tuesday-Friday, Oct. 3-5, through Fathom Events, the documentary “Mully” tells the remarkable story of a Kenyan raised in poverty, who rose to business success and later devoted his life to helping other poor children in his native land.

From Fathom:

What happens when a six-year-old boy in Kenya is Mully-posterabandoned by his family and left to raise himself on the streets? Mully isn’t your ordinary rags-to- riches tale, it’s the true story of Charles Mully, whose unlikely stratospheric rise to wealth and power leaves him questioning his own existence, searching for meaning in life.

Against the better judgment of his family and community, Mully sets out to enrich the fate of orphaned children across Kenya. Jeopardizing his life and the security of his family, Mully risks everything and sets in motion a series of events that is nothing short of astonishing.

Mully is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mully Children’s Family (MCF). MCF is a Christian non-governmental organization based in Kenya that works with disadvantaged populations.

(BTW, A note from Fathom: While his given name is Mulli, for the sake of international audiences and in keeping with the chosen name of his organization—Mully Children’s Family with a “y”—the decision was made to promote the movie using the same spelling. Obviously, not every media outlet will make this distinction.)

From Movieguide:

MULLY is a well-told, beautiful documentary that chronicles a Kenyan man’s inspiring journey of faith, sacrifice and listening to God. MULLY truly brings that story to life with a blend of joyful moments and horrific yet tasteful depictions of what it’s like to be an orphan on the streets. MULLY’s story of faith is absolutely worth watching to see the difference one man can make when he listens to God.

Seems like just the sort of inspiring story we need right now!
