As you may have heard, a book-length interview with Pope Francis — The Name of God is Mercy — has been released about the year of mercy. I tweeted about it as I read it. If you haven’t taken a look, perhaps this will entice you, or give you a new window into the pontiff who seems to surprise, amuse, excite, annoy, enrage people from all walks of life. The great blessing is when you watch and listen, that he challenges. If you read His words, you are drawn to the Word — to the Good News in a world that desperately wants and needs it. It is hard work, living the Christian life, and it is fraught with obstacles and we will fall and faith. But be faithful! He draws us to the Lord, who loves. This mercy business is rigorous stuff, and it is healing. The book, the jubilee year is an invitation — to live the Christian life. To see Jesus Christ, to know Him, to trust Him, in His Mystical Body, the Church.
