Books and Bibles, rosaries and rock carvings, window clings and children’s things.
This week, it’s my great privilege to attend the 16th Annual Catholic Marketing Network trade show. Concurrent with the trade show, the Catholic Writers Guild LIVE! and the Catholic New Media Conference are featuring some of the most compelling speakers in the Catholic world.
So the hotel and the hallways are filled with friends: Catholic authors, booksellers and businessmen, priests in Roman collars and habited nuns, and hundreds of good-hearted people who shop the vendor tables at the Arlington Convention Center near Dallas, returning to serve the Lord in their local communities.
It’s impossible to tell you all the great stuff I’ve seen in the exhibit hall. I hope, though, that over the next few days, I will be able to highlight some of the most novel items in the hall.
Let me start with this one: ROCK VISIONS. At their booth is some of the most unique, one-of-a-kind religious art I’ve seen. Scott Rehling (pictured here) and his partner Lisa Barkley create crosses and abstract art using rare rocks, gems and crystals from around the world.
Rock Visions has a private gallery at the Oasis in Austin, Texas, and sell to dozens of art galleries and furniture galleries throughout the Southwest United States. Check out their work at www.facebook.com/rockvisionsaustin or contact them at [email protected].
