1,000 Facts About the Bible for Kids

Just in time for Easter giving:  A great new picture book from National Geographic!

1,000 Facts About the Bible offers a plethora of fun facts that children (and everyone else) will enjoy learning:  about angels and art, food and fashion, apostles and prophets and personalities from the Bible.

One caution for parents:  1,000 Facts About the Bible is NOT a devotional.  You won’t find evening prayers, or tips for obeying your parents, or a list of important Marian dogmas.  Those things are important, too–and they should be a part of your child’s library.

And it’s NOT a specifically Catholic book.  That means there may be something with which you disagree:  The Bible has 66 books?  Jesus had four brothers?  These are minor points, but you should be aware that some conversation may be necessary.

But 1,000 Facts About the Bible is another way to learn about Bible trivia in a colorful and creative format that tickles the imagination.  There’s a fun section on “tongue twisters” from the pages of Scripture.  There’s plenty of information about daily life in Bible times, food and  about weapons, about Noah’s Ark and Solomon’s Temple.  For the little kid who just loves to scare his older sister, there are pages on “dastardly deeds” and on “Sickening Facts About Plagues and Diseases.”
