Justin Thomas, Marc Leishman, and Jordan Spieth were tied for first place today with about seven holes to play. Both Leishman and Spieth had shot sizzling 30s on the front nine. But Thomas hung on to win by three strokes as the other two players collapsed.

Pound-for-pound, the 150-pound Justin Thomas is the longest hitter on the PGA Tour. But it was his putter that got the job done in this tournament. That’s what it takes when you have only two bogies for 72 holes.

Twenty-four year old Justin Thomas has now won five PGA Tour tournaments this year. He is vying for the player of the year award. It will be determined after the last of the four FedEx Playoff tournaments, which is the season-ending Tour Championship.
