Two Loves Are Better than One

Two Loves Are Better than One December 16, 2018

The father-son duo of Davis Love III and Dru Love came from three strokes back today to win by three strokes the best ball PNC Father-Son Challenge at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. In this 36-hole, fun event, they shot a whopping 16-under par 56 today to break the tournament course record by three strokes. Three teams tied for second: father Retief Goosen and son Leo Goosen, father Stewart Cink and son Connor Cink, and father John Daly and son Little John Daily.

The Love team shot nine-under par 27 the front nine to take the lead. Davis looked as good as ever. His long-hitting, six foot, five inch, tall son Dru looks like he should be on the PGA Tour, where he’s trying to land.

The two requirements to get into this tournament are that the father must have won a major pro golf championship (the 4 majors including The Players Championship) and the son must not be on the PGA Tour. After the Loves won, contestant Jack Nicklaus told Dru Love, “Get your PGA Tour card and get out of her.”
