President Donald Trump is doing everything he can to stay out of prison. It’s because there are multiple investigations of him in New York that have a strong possibility of finding him guilty of criminal activity regarding tax and insurance fraud in his past business dealings and campaign election law violations in 2016. Several in Trump’s presidential orbit have already gone to prison, including his personal lawyer Michael Cohen for doing what Trump told him to do–pay off women to shut them up about claiming an affair with Trump.
That’s why President Trump is trying all kinds of bizarre activities to get reelected this November 3. As president, some of the allegations against him cannot be prosecuted. Trump tries delay tactics in court because some allegations may be affected by statue of limitations, thus running out the clock.
One of President Trump’s strategies is to get his nomination for the Supreme Court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, to replace deceased Ruth Ginsberg on the bench. That would make the court strongly conservative and likely to vote in Trump’s favor if there is an election controversy about mail-in ballots. Even though there is little to no evidence of what President Trump has been constantly claiming recently–that there is much fraud with mail-in ballots (far more Democratic voters use them than Republican voters do)–this indicates Trump will try to contest the election results even if Biden wins.
And Trump’s call for a COVID-19 vaccine prior to the November 3 election, which goes completely contrary to the advice of medical authorities and pharmaceuticals trying to make such a vaccine, is another effort to win the election and thereby prolong his presidency, hoping he will then never be indicted and found guilty of crimes. We’ll see.
