“Trumpty Dumpty” Had a Great Fall

“Trumpty Dumpty” Had a Great Fall 2025-04-28T11:50:14-07:00

The Murdoch-owned New York Post, Donald Trump’s “favorite newspaper, scorched the ex-president yesterday due to his being a “big loser” in his mid-term election picks Tuesday. On the front cover, the Post has a Trump headshot that brands him “Trumpty Dumpty” while sitting on a wall. The feature article castigates Trump for never getting the wall built on our border with Mexico as he promised his supporters in 2016 who thrusted him unexpectedly into the White House, which I’ve been saying all along he turned into the Black House. Now a bunch of MAGA supporters, even in the Murdoch orbit, such as Fox News, are seeing the light about the New York City con-man who tried to uproot the nation’s democracy and is still trying to do so.

The Post‘s featured “Trumpty Dumpty” article mocks on the front cover, “Don (who couldn’t build a wall) had a great fall–can all theGOP’s men put the party back together again?”

Yesterday’s issue of the Post also had an article by columnist John Podhoretz entitled, “Here’s how Donald Trump sabotaged the Republican midterms.” Podhoretz alleges, “Toxic Trump is the political equivalent of a can of Raid,” referring to the bug repellent by that name. Podhoretz then called Trump “the most profound vote-repellent in modern American history. The surest way to lose in these midterms was to be a politician endorsed by Trump. This is not hyperbole.”

Donald Trump–in his retirement from the White House to the orange-stucco house at Mar-a-Lago resort estate on the Florida coast–had been wielding a fake scepter as kingmaker in endorsing Republican candidates, both senators and reps., for the midterm elections last Tuesday. But his effort proved toxic because of his methods.

Trump had one main requirement for choosing to endorse–that the politician publicly affirmed the 2020 presidential election had been a fraud and that Trump, not Biden, had really won. The problem with that was that there was so much evidence it was a lie that most Americans would not buy it but conclude that Donald Trump was just America’s worst loser.

Trump also selected his midterm picks by employing revenge against those incumbent Republicans running for reelection who had not towed the Trump line by claiming the 2020 election had been a fraud.

I live in Arizona, one of the important swing states that was supposed to help cause the Republican expected “red wave” that would make the GOP so overwhelmingly control both houses of Congress. As I would drive my car around town, here in the Phoenix valley, I’d see many political signs in which a Republican politician would advertise “Trump endorsed.” I had thought that could backfire, and sure enough it did. So many of politicians like that lost their race, and that is another reason Trump is being called “the big loser.”

Podhoretz concludes his Post column by screaming at Conman Trump, “In the name of God–go. . . . Yo, Toxic Trump: Scram.”

He won’t go easy. Some poliltical analysts are predicting Trump will “burn the house down.” I think they’re right, that he will try to do that. It remains to be seen what that will be. But the USA courts will have something to say about it, and that is why the USA has had the greatest democracy in the world.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked if our fledgling new nation was “a republic or a monarchy,” he answered, “A republic, if you can keep it.” If Trump and his MAGA supporter scram, maybe we are going to keep it for a while.
