Jesus Taught about Hypocrites Judging Others
Donald Trump often judges other people about things that he himself is is more guilty about. I mention this in my book, Bible Predicts Trump Fall, about how Trump violates Jesus’ teaching in his Sermon on the Mount about judging (Matthew 7.1-5). He calls the person a “hypocrite” who judges someone for some particular behavior while that person is far more guilty of such behavior. Jesus the carpenter uses hyperbole in saying it is hypocritical to try to take a splinter out of someone’s eye when you yourself have a log in your own eye.
For example, Republican President Donald Trump and actor George Clooney, who has two Oscars, have been criticizing each other in recent years about politics.
Trump and Clooney Sparring with Words
Democrat Clooney, you may recall, was the first to publicly call for Democrat President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race in 2020 against former President Trump saying Biden, whom Clooney had supported as president, was now too old and unable to carry out his presidential duties effectively. This had become apparent when Biden performed badly against Trump in a nationally televised presidential debate. Clooney also had been saying how unqualified Donald Trump is to be president.
During that 2020 presidential campaign, Trump had written on his Truth Social account about Clooney, “So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!”
Well, after Trump’s first four-year term as president, in 2017-2021, and having suffered two unprecedented House impeachments, a significant group of presidential authors issued a public statement saying that Donald Trump had been the worst president in U.S. history. His now first year in his second term may even be worse.
Clooney Comeback?
Clooney could have responded to Trump’s aforementioned criticism by saying, “So now the fake president Donald Trump should get out of politics and go back to television, to ‘The Apprentice,’ where he conned the American public into believing he was such a great businessman. Politics never really worked for him!!!”
