The Second Day of Advent

The Second Day of Advent

Rainbow Hope
(12/1)
“When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.” – Genesis 9:16-17

Advent is the season of divine promises. God puts a rainbow in the clouds to symbolize his eternal commitment to healing the earth. God is faithful. God will never abandon you or your loved ones, or this good earth. God has a stake in creation. God has a stake in our responding to global climate change, species extinction, and global and national systemic injustice.

God wants our world to be beautiful. God is faithful. God loved you into life. God walks beside you each step of the way. God provides a rainbow in the skies. God comes to us through all the colors of the rainbow, though humankind in all its diversity. God wants us to treasure diversity and embrace all the colors of the rainbow.

Let us awaken to God’s covenant of grace, trusting God in every season of life. Let us trust God to guide us through the pandemic and every day of our lives.

Inspire me by your rainbow love. Let me trust your covenant that I am always in your hands and that your everlasting love guides, protects, and sustains in every season of life. IN Jesus name. Amen.
