During this time of the year, we all go through different emotions. From joy to sadness, we are all faced with varying degrees of feelings that are dependent on what we are faced with. The good news is that no matter what you are feeling, there is a scripture that you can cling to – a promise of God that will see you through.
Holidays Can Be Rough
Two years ago this week my mother passed away. I thought I would be much better by now, but sometimes it doesn’t seem like I am. I miss her so much. It’s weird, I can’t seem to get things done the way I used to – my ability to focus has all but disappeared. I feel like something is missing every single day, which at times, keeps me running in circles. I know that many of you feel the same way I do, and I must be honest, without faith in God, I would probably be much worse off.
Telling my story and where I am is a way to say that I understand. I can empathize. So many of us suffer loss and some days it just seems like too much. But I know that I have a Savior who knows exactly how I feel (and how you feel as well) and He has given me His Word to cling to when my emotions seem like they are just too much to handle.

How Are You Feeling?
The following is a list of emotions and the corresponding scriptures that you can use as Biblical affirmations when you are feeling out of sorts. I pray that these scriptures will help you as much as they have helped me. (At the end of the list, there is a worksheet you can right click on to save if you’d like to).
Don’t forget Hebrews 4:12 is our reminder that the Word of God is what we need to get through anything we face: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…”
How to Use These Scriptures:
- When you feel attacked or if you are struggling with a specific emotion, find the feeling or concern below and read the verses.
- Every verse has been summarized & personalized to be spoken over your life – as an affirmation of sorts.
- Pick one or more of the verses & speak them over your life.
- Every time a negative thought comes up, something bad happens or one of these feelings arises, speak the verses out loud.

Final Thoughts
My prayer is that if you are struggling with any of the feelings listed above, you will turn to the Lord for help. He is always there for you and wants the best for you. He knows you and waits for you to seek Him. Deuteronomy 31:8 is a great reminder of this:
“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Blessings,
Amy
