Political Party Convention Open Thread

I’ll have more to say later—a lot more—about the candidates and narratives of this year’s election, but I wanted to take a moment to post an open thread for discussion of both conventions. I should have opened this thread last week—or perhaps a dedicated thread for the Republican Party convention—but better late than never.

Note: I know that there is ongoing disagreement over the Democratic candidates and that there are likely heightened concerns in the wake of the DNC email leaks. With that in mind I would ask those who comment on this thread to be especially careful to abide by my comment policy.
