Jesus is King

Daniel 2:44-45 – And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”

From sports betting to weather forecasting and political polling, most everyone wishes they could predict the future. Over and over, we try and fail.

Conversely, over and over the Bible predicts the future in amazing detail that comes to pass exactly as prophesied. This is precisely what happens at the end of Daniel 2. Roughly six-hundred years before Jesus came to earth the first time in humility, the promise was given that He would one day come again in glory to set up a Kingdom and answer His own prayer that the Kingdom would come and His Father’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The prophecy through Daniel depicts the kingdom of God as starting small and ending big. The stone not cut from human hands refers to Jesus Christ’s virgin birth and Kingdom – both of which are miracles of God. Jesus quoted of Himself Psalm 118:22, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”

Today, we live on the precipice of history. At any time, the Lord Jesus could return to establish the Kingdom of God forever. The same God who wrote these words rules this world and is coming again to claim what is rightfully His…forever.
