Left-wing extremists have gotten more violent in Germany… and here.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the number of left-wing German extremists classified as “potentially violent” rose 27 percent between 2012 and 2017. (Now they estimate there are 9,000 of the violent extremists.) And their crimes have followed too. Left-wing extremists had an increase of 88 percent from 876 violent crimes to 1,648.
Consequently, Hans-Georg Maassen asked that the culture start thinking more seriously about a purposeful rejection of political violence.
This should surprise precisely no one. The left always incites violence, and it’s happening here too.
In September 2017, I posted Kansas City Police had to actually disarm the ironically named “Antifa” groups who were marching in Washington Square Park. Portland police made seven arrests after “antifa” protestors brought gas grenades and other projectiles to a Patriot Prayer demonstration. These types of actions, a direct threat to free speech in America, have been happening all over the nation.
These terrorists (and yes, I’m using that word deliberately) were dressed in black with red scarves around their faces. They were carrying semi-automatic rifles, ammunition , and red flags with a communist symbol.
According to The Daily Caller, their group, the “The Kansas City Revolutionary Collective,” identifies as “Marxist-Leninist-Maoist” and says it’s organizing against “far-right militias” who support and are supported by President Donald Trump.
Well, I guess that’s clear enough.
In August, six people were injured, including a police officer, and 13 protesters arrested Sunday after a violent black-masked antifa mob swarmed Berkeley in order to protest a previously cancelled rally against Marxism. All in all, thirteen people were arrested, for a variety of charges including “battery, vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon and felony assault.”
These sorts of actions caused prominent Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz (no conservative) to say that the radical Antifa movement has taken hold of the Democratic party and needs to be stopped. “Many of these people, not all of them, many of these people are trying to tear down America. Antifa is a radical anti-American, anti-free market, communist, socialist, hard, hard left censorial organization that tries to stop speakers on campuses from speaking. They use violence. And just because they’re opposed to fascism and to some of these monuments shouldn’t make them heroes of the liberals.”
If you still are pretending that these liberals aren’t fascist thugs, then you’re doing it in spite of their own proclamations.
It’s time to take our heads out of the sand and do something.
